Those who didn't hand out a specific block to make seem to be getting sawtooth stars from me! These will finish at eight inches.
I've made a few other stars out of scraps too. Technically I guess the green Ohio stars would qualify for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for the month of June. ;- )
These Ohio stars are nine inches each as opposed to the 12" blocks I made last year for the RSC.
I also dug an assortment of crumb and crazy pieced blocks out of the Parts Department and sewed them into a 24" x 40" panel.
I'm linking up with the other Rainbow Scrap Challenge bloggers over at SoScrappy Saturday morning. There's a world of wonderful scrappy goodness to be seen. :- )
That crazy quilt seems to be begging for a border of postage stamp stars in all colours. But that's just me. I like postage stamp stars anywhere... You seem to have had a productive week so far; I hope that means you're feeling better :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the medallion reveal, too, though I'm nowhere near ready. (Too much time away from my studio!)
ReplyDeleteI love your stars - especially those Ohio stars. You know what fan of those I am! And I think that the crumb panel would make a terrific medallion center. With stars, right? 8)
That last photo's piece would make a fabulous children's quilt -- here's hoping the parts department cooperates!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am also looking forward to the next round of the medallion --- LOTS of us are!!
Your parts department reminds me of a never-emptying pot of soup! I love seeing what comes out of it next. Somewhere I have a bunch of 9" Ohio Stars, too. Seeing yours reminded me, and I do love the green ones, particularly. I'll have to search and hope that I have them with me, and that they aren't in storage someplace I'm never going to be able to get them! Your sawtooth stars would be welcome in my swap basket any time. I love them, no matter what's in the center! They are second only to baskets, in my mind.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun going on in your parts department. I'm sure it will turn into something fun.
ReplyDeleteYou've got some WONDERFUL projects keeping you busy in your sew space! Hope you have some fun with those Parts Department blocks. I'll be looking forward to seeing what kind of quilt you build!
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have such a chock full parts dept. now I pray you have the good health ahead to make use of it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun making something when you're not sure where it's going to go? I love those green Ohio Stars - always my favorite block.
ReplyDeleteYour star blocks are very pretty. I love star blocks.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLove all your blocks, nice job. Have a great day!
Nice sawtooth stars and a very fun "parts deparment" quilt. I love that term!
