End of Yellow, Beginning of Blue

Since this is the first day of July it's also the first day for the new color in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. It just so happens that the color for July is blue. The quilt I made for the Welcome Blanket Project was made almost entirely from scraps and is predominantly blue so I'm sharing it one more time. :- )

If you'd like to see how this quilt came to be you can read about it here and here.

I made a few more yellow blocks before the end of June too:

Now it's time to put the remaining yellow patches away and get out the blue ones! If you'd like to see what others are doing with their rainbow scraps you can click over to Angela's blog for the link party. In the meantime, I hope all my friends in the USA have a safe and happy Independence Day celebration!

  3. Hope you still have plenty of blues after that fabulous Welcome Quilt! I still have a couple of weeks till I need to get another couple of scrappy blocks done - just as well! I'll be doing blue and teal myself :-)

  4. Great post. Love your Welcome Blanket, such a lot to look at. You have made a super collection of yellow blocks - love the little sailing boat. Interested to see how you use the blocks to make a quilt. I have some of the strawberry fabric you used in the bow tie blocks.

  5. Your Welcome Blanket is so sweet. The alternating dark and light rounds make each one stand out nicely. Good yellow finish for your scraps and stash. Have a happy Fourth. I remember the Mt. Vernon fireworks we could see from the hill. Fond memories of neighbors and friends coming together.

  7. Still loving that top! You are so good about making these parts with the color of the month each time. I have good intentions, but my life has been such a mess, nothing happens. However, younger son moved out today ... and during the coming week. LOL Maybe I'll be able to organize better now.
