S is for Swap

I haven't shared much about the Foot Square Freestyle block swap since Kate and I organized it. Life has been getting in my way very effectively the last couple of months. Fortunately, Kate is more organized than I am digitally and has set up a wonderful gallery of all the blocks that have been made and swapped so far. You can see them here (scroll down a bit). Now it's September, and it's MY turn to receive blocks!

I've already made the blocks for my set. I've actually shared them already but I didn't reveal they were for this blocks swap (I'm so sneaky!). I've requested the other players use black and white and bright colors. Like this:

Or this:

Or this!

I hope the other F2F swappers will have fun with this palette. I sure did!

  1. Love your blocks Sue. I had it in my head that your choice was just black with a bright and was imagining all sorts of wonderful blocks, I'll have to re-think now I know it's black with white....I can still have fun with that. I think I might be able to catch up with the rainbow scrap challenge now, things have thankfully slowed down a lot for now. You've been getting lots done with your scraps and hand-dyes.

  2. Wow, these are so bright and colourful, and the others, what a wonderful swap to be involved in. Guess we have to wait to see the finished projects.

  3. I'm glad I saw this Sue as I had in mind that you wanted just one 'hot' colour with the black and white in each block. Now I see you can do that or add more than one.
Thanks again to you and Kate for organizing this swap. I'm afraid my abilities pale into insignificance beside most of the others but I'm enjoying it anyway!

  4. Hello Sue, your blocks are looking fabulous! I was very fast so I will send my blocks tomorrow... of course it will take two weeks until you have them.

  5. Oh good, the colours and the black and white fabrics I've chosen work well with what you have here! Are you staying away from the gallery to maintain the surprise, or are you looking from time to time to see what's new?

  6. Excellent blocks! Seeing these gives me another perspective on how the blocks can look. I might have put too much black and white and not enough color! Thanks! I hope life settles down for you soon.
