Sunshine on a Snowy Day

I hope all my readers in the United States had a warm and tasty Thanksgiving Day. Because of the snow and icy roads in this region DH and I had an intimate turkey dinner, just the two of us.

There was new snowfall here Thanksgiving morning. It made for a very pretty holiday. By Friday it had all melted away. At least it stuck around long enough for me to get the baby quilt top finished. When last you saw it I'd made points for maybe six of the 20 stars. The next day I had all the stars in place.

It was at that point that Jan Mullen stopped with her Starz and Stripez quilt. I felt mine needed more.

I am absolutely thrilled with how this turned out.

Poor DH went to JoAnn's yesterday to try to procure batting for this project. When he saw the length of the line he turned on his heels and left the store. So we'll wait to quilt this up until I either piece together some leftover bits of batting or someone else can go to the store for me. In the meantime I need to get back to those projects I told Finn I would finish up before New Year's Day!

Sounds like the snowfall worked out just fine after all. And it's all good when you are glad to be together *VBS*
I think your additions to this quilt idea is excellent. The red seems perfect to me and the border fabric couldn't be better. Great choices all around. Sorry about the lack of batting, but I don't blame him one bit! Holiday shoppers and I don't agree at all! I keep my distance. Great job on getting this finished up so quickly! Onward, hugs, Finn

The quilt is AWESOME... the snow... yuck. Warmed up here a tad, but my goodness, I hated seeing it the other day... can't I just skip winter this year?

Wow, this came out just fantastic! I love it! I like that inner border, and the yellows are wonderful!

We got 8 inches of snow here. The family did manage to make it here for our Turkey Day feast, in spite of being nervous.

I don't blame your DH for not braving Joanne's...I wouldn't have done it either!

What an absolutely MARVELOUS flimsy finish! WOO HOO . . . with the lines at many stores these days, I am loving online shopping more and more.

Wow! That's one beautiful quilt. I love all the yellow, and that bit of red makes the whole thing pop. Wonderful!
