Smooth Sailing
My fleet of scrappy ships has returned from the islands, quilted and bound.
And has been sent on its' voyage to a new owner.
James quilted it with a variegated thread in big swirls. I like the idea of fair winds blowing into the sails.
This quilt was more difficult to part with than I expected. I have no excuse for keeping any more quilts however. There are almost 20 in my bedroom alone!
I zoomed in on all the details, the borders look lovely, swirls as the ships set sail and are away from their safe anchorage. This will be a treasure. If I ever get all my part finished ones done, they too will need to find new homes.
It turned out beautifully - smooth sailing for the lucky recipient. I have far too many quilts here and I keep giving them to family and such. But I use them for decorating the house and change them with the seasons so I don't feel that they are neglected. (Quiltdivajulie)
I like the name 'Fair Winds' for the name of the Quilt.. :) Beautiful!!
